UPDATES:

1) Cool! We have another new member joining us! Applause!

2) We have a new practice here. Notice that every DA site has the featured deviation section. All scientartists' artwork submission in this club site will be posted and thus it is just a matter of time. The featured artwork will be changed into a different one, every Friday. Hence it means that you will see a different one every week and do look out for yours! This at the same time, will also encourage fellow scientartists to submit your own masterpiece more often. Do also remember that all submission types are not restricted here (can be photographs, shading, sketches, etc) as long as they are related to natural sciences.

3) I encourage more scientartists to participate more often in our internal science forum, the link you can find below. If not, I have pasted a link for you here: [link] You can post any topic relating to natural sciences or you may also answer or have a friendly argument together pertaining to those relevant topics. Everyone's ideas should be great as long as they are relevant to the club. Any scientartists who have been actively participating in the forum will be announced with their avatars shown on the journal updates.

4) Notice that we have a chatroom? It is very rarely used. Here we need to use the chatroom more often. I think we scientartists need to build rapport on one another. Why not we arrange some regular time slots to gather in the chatroom and chat? So that those scientartists who can make it in one time slot will choose that timing to enter and chat while others can choose other time slots instead. For example, we may have like Thurs night from 9pm to 12am as one of the time slots while Sat night from 9pm to 3am as another. Then we can have yet more time slots too. Hence whatever time slots that you can make it, you can just drop by and have a chat with the rest.

Now I should have the start-off! I suggest to have a time slot on Thurs, Singapore timing 2200hrs to 0300hrs. Converting to GMT, it is 1400hrs. You may refer to this time converter for more detailed and clearer conversion of timing. [link]

Hence what we need now is as many suggestions of time slots from fellow scientartists as possible. I have started off with the suggestions above. After which we can choose the time slots with most scientartists available and we will fix the time slots. From then we can have the same time slots every week.

5) Lastly, I would like to inform you of the next coming contest. But the details will be announced in the next journal update, due to the fact I already have lots of announcements in this journal. For those very eager to participate in the contest, do give me some time, I will update the details soon.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CHAT SESSIONS ARE NOT RESTRICTED TO CHATTING ON SCIENCE TOPICS ONLY. ALL ARE CASUAL CHATTING SESSIONS. MEMBERS ARE ABLE TO DISCUSS WHAT TOPICS THEY WANT AS LONG AS THERE ARE NO FLAMING ON ONE ANOTHER.
PURPOSE OF THE CHAT IS TO BOOST INTERACTIONS AMONG MEMBERS.

The update section will be present at all times at the top of the journal and will be freshed and updated of latest news from the club once every week. But the history, media, forum and the rest will remain unchange at all times unless there are updates which will be informed in the Update section.

A brief history of the club:
We, as science lovers come together in a forum (set up by ~funstarpang) under the general discussion in DA here [link]
The responses are very good. Some of us even suggested to set up a science club in DA. After which I asked around in the forum, almost all the science lovers agreed and were keen to join the club.
We are a bunch of science-art fans who love science as much as art, hence we called ourselves scientartists.

Purpose and activities of the Club:
This serves as an interaction hub for fellow scientartists to meet online and discuss about what science theories they have learned, latest discoveries as well as innovations. Hence this is a place for science fans to make like-minded new friends from all over the world. To join as scientartists need not be scientists or good in science but have to love science.

All devs in the form of artwork, photos, writings, audio, video, etc with regards to science, both non-fiction and fiction, are welcomed. We have a 'Interesting Science News' page where links to interesting scientific articles online will be posted, this will be updated once a week.
